L’Epouvantail - 2. Photos & 2. 2 Reviews - French - 6 rue de Jarente, Marais, Paris, France - Restaurant Reviews - Phone Number. Great vibe, excellent value and super friendly servers/owners. Would return or recommend in a heart beat! Wish I could give credit to the lovely young women from the wine store that directed us to this awesome place. Epouvantail receives very good reviews on TA and since we stayed in a hotel nearby decided to check it out. The restaurant is very cozy with around 1. The menu consists of mostly French cuisine, with a few alternative options. We were here with a group of 6 during a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was about half full, but with only one waiter it felt understaffed. Elsasser Blues (Bonus Track En Alsacien) Weepers Circus. Additional information. Notre bar est ouvert de 8h Service was very friendly, but not very attentive and a bit infrequent as the waiter was regularly hanging out outside. Of our starters, the Seabream was nice but oily, but the Filo Pastry with Prawns was a bit bland. Of our mains, the Duck was very good (I recommend going 'pink'), the veal was very nice, and the chicken curry got good reviews too. Our other dishes (pork chop, sirloin, & fish of the day) were average. The dessert of white chocolate mousse with rhubarb was delicious. Finally, a restaurant in Paris that delivered on delicious French cooking! Based on our experience, I feel safe in recommending this as a very high quality place that will delight you with excellent food, well prepared. We had the Formule lunch, 1. E each with an entr. Our entrees were two salads, one Salade Marchiese (spelling?) which means with a poached egg and bacon, and the other a smoked salmon and avocado salad. The mains were a smoked haddock with mashed potatoes and haricot vert, very inventive and delicious, and mezzaluna (half moon raviolis) in a cream sauce with jamon serrano. Often in Paris, the most crowded eateries are not always the best. We enjoyed a delightful evening. The wine list is adequate and of good quality. My colleague is a work- day . Attentive and helpful. It had a genuine cozy atmosphere. I felt to be at a good friend's home. Mot de l'auteur : Ma premi. Gratis d'accord. Overall, excellent. My partner and I had three courses each. Mains (duck and chicken curry) were delicious - duck was cooked perfectly (pink), although potato accompaniment was slightly overcooked. Deserts (pannacotta and profiteroles) were the perfect way to end a meal - sweet, not too large, and well made (I believe profiteroles were made to order). Would definitely return. We enjoyed our first meal on Paris. The price was so reasonable, and server spoke English very well. Even there was no Eng menu, he helped us chosing menu. It was located in quiet place in Le Marais. Not the best, but pretty good. Best place we have eaten all week. Service was wonderful. Will be sure to return! Masterful cooking and preparation, and gregarious friendly owner and''employee of the month'' give this modest restaurant the edge in a neighborhood filled with such places. The dishes- I had almost all of them- are very carefully constructed, superbly cooked, and delicately flavored. For the price you really can't find better in Paris.
